Ver-Mac Automated Flagger Assistance Device (AFAD)
Protect your workers and save money with the Flagger-Mac, a safe alternative to traditional flagging tactics. Flagger Mac is designed to increase the safety of the traffic control flagger by minimizing their exposure to traffic.
The Ver-Mac AFAD Flagger-Mac is a trailer-mounted gate device designed for flagging operations. The Flagger-Mac system consists of two gate devices that are operated using a wireless remote controller. This technology allows the operator to fully control both devices from a safe location outside the work zone.
The Flagger-Mac also has an innovative break-away arm mechanism in case of impact, adding an additional layer of protection for your workers while ensuring the safety of your equipment.
Each Flagger-Mac unit is equipped with two 12-inch lamps, (1) red and (1) yellow, one gate with a flag, a V-Touch controller with wireless remote, and stealth technology.

“Hi Everyone, Wade here with ATS Traffic. Today we’re proud to introduce to you the new, Ver-Mac Flagger-Mac, Automated Flagging Assistance Device, or “AFAD” for short.
Real quick, how it works – with a simple button push on the wireless controller, the gate arm will rise. Once it’s in the fully upright position, there’s a light that will actually flash back towards you. So if you’re a flag person or a pilot person in the work zone, that would indicate that traffic is flowing in your direction.
To bring that gate arm down, you simply push this middle button. There’s about a 10 second delay there just allow clearance of traffic to proceed through the work zone so the arm doesn’t come down on top of someone. Once it’s in the final position there, we can push this alternative button here for the second trailer. That gate arm will rise, allowing traffic then to flow through the work zone.
Some notable features include:
- A breakaway arm system
- Equipped with an 85-watt solar panel – Ver-Mac’s patented power management system and stealth batteries, this trailer is designed to operate for you autonomously in your work zone.
- This unique Ver-Mac nesting system allows two trailers to be towed to site with one vehicle.

3M Certified Fabricator
ATS Traffic is a 3M certified fabricator which gives us access to the best sign-grade aluminum in the industry. It’s 50% thicker than other manufacturers’ utility-grade materials, so while their signs may tear off their posts, ours stay in place. 3M first developed retroreflective sheeting over 70 years ago and is still leading the way in traffic visibility. As a 3M certified fabricator, we carry a full line of temporary and permanent reflective sheeting that can be applied to your signs and equipment.
Our production facility can make 1,000 signs a day. We use an electrostatic system for painting and dipping, do individual screen printing, and overlaminate our signs. Our process takes more time and effort, but our signs look sharper, shine brighter, and last longer.
